The 12th Australia and New Zealand Young Geotechnical Professionals Conference was held at the Old Woolstore Hotel, Hobart, Tasmania, from 6 to 9 November 2018. Held every two years, the YGP Conference is for geotechnical professionals from Australia and New Zealand 35 years old and younger with 10 or fewer years of experience. For this 12th edition of the conference, 45 delegates were selected from a record number of 104 abstract submissions. The presentations were engaging and diverse, covering both research and practice.
