Introduction to geoethics: definition, concepts and application
In the framework of the cooperation agreement between the International Association of Engineering Geology and Environment (IAEG) and the International Association for the Promotion of Geoetics (IAPG), I am pleased to post this video to promote the importance of Geoethics in the activity of Engineering geology.
In this video Silvia Peppoloni (Research geologist at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Secretary General of the IAPG – International Association for Promoting Geoethics) introduces the audience to the definition and meaning of geoethics, also from a philosophical point of view; she highlights the main characteristics of geoethics and the concept of responsibility; illustrates the four ethical dimensions of geoethics; describes the themes of geoethics and the fields of its application.
