DESCRIPTION:14th ISL (International\nSymposium on Landslides)\n&\nRSS\n(Rock Slope Stability) 2024\nCHAMBÉRY (SAVOIE\, FRANCE)\n5-12 JULY 2024\nISL (International Symposia on Landslides) is a quadrennial event organized under the patronage of the Joint Technical Committee on Natural Slopes and Landslides (JTC1) of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering\, the International Society for Rock Mechanics and the International Association for Engineering Geology since 1972.\nISL2024 is the 14th ISL and is hosted in France for the first time.\nRSS (Rock slope Stability) is a recurrent event\, almost 5 symposiums since 2010. Since 2016 the event is organised under the patronage of the French national program C2ROP.\nThe two events merge into a single event in 2024. \nScientific program\nProgram in progress – More information will be posted soon about the program. \nThe topic of IS Landslides 2024 is proposed to be:\n“Landslides across the scales: from the fundamentals to engineering applications” \nThis topic will be addressed through the following items:\nMultiscale constitutive modeling for soils and rocks\nWeathering effects on soils and rocks destabilization\nPermafrost and ground stability\nSurvey techniques\nModeling of soil and rock hazards\nRecent progress in numerical tools for landslide modeling\nRisk analysis and mitigation\nModeling and design of protective structures\nArtificial intelligence and machine learning techniques applied to slope engineering\nMake researchers\, authorities and companies working together and involve inhabitants\nCase studies \n  \nNew ! DESCRIPTION:July 22-25 2024 \nSalerno\, Italy \nThe ICGdR is an international non-governmental and non-profit making scientific organization legally registered as a non-profit organization in 2013 in the Shimane prefecture government according to the Japanese law. The ICGdR contributes to a safe and secured social and natural environment by promoting the reduction of disasters triggered by geological and geophysical phenomena on the earth. The domicile of the ICGdR is Fukui city\, Fukui prefecture in Japan. \nThe primary objectives of the ICGdR are: \n1. Promote geo-disaster reduction for the benefit of human society and the natural environment\, and capacity development\, including education;\n2. Combine international expertise and coordinate their efforts in geo-disaster reduction\, thereby resulting in an effective international organization which will act as a partner in various projects; and \n3. Promote regional and global\, multidisciplinary activity on geo-disaster reduction.
