It is sponsored by WIT Transactions on the Built Environment and the International Journal of Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements. \nThe purpose of the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent research and industrial developments in the theoretical and practical aspects of safety and security engineering. This field\, due to its special nature\, is an interdisciplinary area of research and application that brings together\, in a systematic way\, many disciplines of engineering from the traditional to the most technologically advanced. The conference covers areas such as crisis management\, security engineering\, natural disasters and emergencies\, terrorism\, IT security\, man-made hazards\, pandemics\, transportation security\, protection and mitigation issues\, among others. SUMMARY:Special Issue: Natural Hazards and Geological Risks in Subduction Zones
DESCRIPTION:This Special Issue will gather and present the latest findings from site investigations and numerical simulations carried out in subduction zones\, including those for: \n1) Seismic microzoning studies in urbanized areas;\n2) Applications of geophysical and geotechnical techniques for the reconstruction of the subsoil geological model for microzoning activities;\n2) Local seismic response assessment (site amplification); 3) Seismically induced landslides;\n4) Volcanic hazard and related risk;\n5) Hydraulic and hydrogeological risk;\n6) Numerical modeling of the aforementioned natural hazards;\n7) Multihazard assessment in urbanized areas. \nWe therefore are inviting submission of high-quality papers considering the abovementioned topics.
